Asian American Journalists Association

Asian American Journalists Association

Welcome to the Minnesota chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), a distinguished nonprofit organization committed to fostering excellence in journalism and promoting the voices of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the media landscape. With a proud legacy as two-time winners of the Chapter of the Year award in 1997 and 2011, our dedicated community continues to make a lasting impact.

With over 1,700 members strong, AAJA serves as a vital platform for aspiring journalists, inspiring the next generation to consider journalism as a meaningful career path. We provide invaluable educational resources and mentorship programs to cultivate young talent. Additionally, AAJA is devoted to nurturing managers in the media industry, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead with integrity and inclusivity.

The areas of our work have no boundaries: we cooperate with political media, sports correspondents, the world of show business. Members of our community work in various fields: art, ecology, technology and legal gambling (in particular, online poker USA).

At the core of our mission is the promotion of fair and accurate news coverage that authentically reflects the diverse perspectives and experiences of AAPI communities. Through advocacy, training and collaborations, AAJA strives to break stereotypes, challenge biases, and create a more inclusive media landscape.

Join us in our journey to elevate journalism, empower communities, and celebrate the rich tapestry of Asian American and Pacific Islander voices in Minnesota and beyond. Together, we can shape a more equitable and informed society through the power of journalism.
